Better; work?

I'm keeping on the meds for this bug and am happily surprised by how well they are working this time. It seems it will be a short-lived unpleasantness. Thank you God!

My friend, By His Grace, included the following quote at her blog recently: "The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning."
~Ivy Baker Priest.

Isn't that beautiful? I read it the other day while I was in a desperate, lonely, dark place. It was as if God was sending me a gentle reminder to be patient and to trust. Thank you BHG for allowing me to share it here. I hope it will bring the same comfort to others.

I see my pain man today. It's a maintenance appointment. I've got my meds up about as far as possible, he says, so I'm not expecting any changes.

On a different topic, I had a phone interview today. A couple years ago I worked for a company who hires disabled people to work out of their home, typically for telecommunications positions. I worked a few months on a contract they had with a particular government financial institution. Then I had the surgery that went really wrong, ended up on the vent and spent the next several months in physical and neuropsych therapy.

Anyway, 2007 has been devastating financially, with three in-patient surgeries. $992 to walk in the door every time, and 20% of all costs on top of that. There's just no way to recover, especially since when one thing starts to subside, another problem just rears its ugly head and takes over.

We never had debt until this garbage started. Now it seems all I do is cause debt and more debt from the medical bills. I can't work outside the home, and goodness knows I'm not sure if I can FROM home either any more. But we're in such a bad place that I have to try to acquire an income, so my only realistic shot is trying to get on with one of the company's contracts.

So in the wee hours Tuesday, since I hold a Ticket I submitted my stuff online. First thing in the morning/Tues, they called and asked if I could interview Wednesday morning. It went well today, passed no problem, and I'm being forwarded for the next phase of the interview. Who knows if I'll get it, or be able to tolerate if I do, but I have to at least try and get a position.

Till next time!

  1. You got it. $992 just to show up. I'm on Medicare.
