I will have a manual chair within the week. I hate knowing it's necessary, and feel pathetic that handling a power scooter can be so freaking difficult thanks to Ehlers-Danlos, but also feel a sense of relief (and renewed hope) that I can become involved in my family's life and the outside world again.
The chair is a 16" instead of the cookie cutter standard of 20". The other modifications I was able to opt for include inward bend of the leg rests, desk-length armrests (to pull all the way up to desks/tables), nylon (instead of vinyl) upholstery, and composite handrims.
Oh and it's dark purple. Is anyone surprised? Didn't think so! LOL. Thus is the color of neurological awareness!
