I have another EMG/NCS tomorrow morning; that's Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Study for you non-neuro folks. They insert a bunch of needles into the muscles all over and then zap them, measuring responses and muscle contraction and stuff.
I check in at the hospital at 7:45 a.m.
The kids are taking a 3 hour art class through KidzArt. It should be great for them! Unfortunately I booked them to have their Toothprints impression, DNA sample, and fingerprinting set up at the dentist but since it only takes about 5 minute a child, they're letting me bring them over after class. They had their cleanings and check-ups, and other than a mild panic attack from Meg due to the OCD/SID, it was superbly! No cavities, either child!
Toothprints is a fabulous program. If you're a parent, please check out

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have to have an EMG done in June and just wondered...is it absolutely horrible or bearable?
thanks
Hi there Gina,
ReplyDeleteNah, it's not that bad. Uncomfortable for sure. A lot of it depends on who is doing it. My first 4 were fine. Today I had a doc who surely was a butcher in a former life (pulled the needles out in the opposite direction). I wouldn't worry though.
GL!

Mine was set up for the 10th and just today they reschedualed for the 24th. they said it would take 4 hours and i would need to take valium and they would do the whole body. is that what you had done?
ReplyDeleteyou continued to post -- that is a good sign. :)
Hi there IG,
ReplyDeleteI think that was my 5th EMG and I've certainly never have one last 4 hours!!!
